I've got NSW slimline plates on my Octavia & the whole setup looks a bit half done.

There are factory bolt holes in the front that are about 80mm wider than the width of the number plate. It looks shoddy.

On the rear it's not quite as bad but none of the holes line up either.

Both of my plates are mounted with body tape at the moment but I'd prefer something more secure.

Any ideas?

(and I really don't want to pay the RTA $100 a year for the privelidge of having a Euro plate.)

I got a panel beater to plug-up and paint-over those ugly two holes on the front bumper. Looks much better now.

My plates are also stuck on with double sided tape at the moment. I've got some aluminium plates that I'm going to mount to the body (front one will be quite large and covered in matt black vinyl filling in the gap between the top and bottom grilles and thus covering the two extra wide holes, rear one will be completely covered by the plate).

Since the dealer had already screwed into the bumper to attach the original plate I used the holes that they'd already made, and fitted a plate cover to hide the screws. The factory, "way out", holes I just used a bit of the paint from my colour coding to, "colour code" the holes.

If you zoom right in on this picture you can see them, but I wouldn't think anybody would notice unless they were specifically looking for it?

I look forward to some pictures.

I'm thinking of getting one of these:

But not real sure how it will look against the red car.

I'm thinking it should be OK when combined with the black strips.

At the back - I'm not sure which way to go.
