As per the title, just wondering has anyone here moved a car from A to B using a car transporting service. I'm getting quotes and just wanted to hear any good/bad experiences or prices that have been quoted/paid.

Cheers,

Snowy :)

Me?....Plans?....Never!

Just wondering if I was ever to acquire a car from somewhere distant and couldn't drive to pick it up I might need to transport it on a truck. :bluesbro:

I bought my car in Brisbane and it was trucked/trained across to Perth, using Auto-Logistics. they are a broker, who ultimately used Toll Transport.

the car arrived in perfect condition and was washed etc when i picked it up.

the only downside I had was they left it sitting in their yard for about 4 days as they "forgot" to load it on the truck, so it took longer to get here than originally quoted (was a pain at the time, i was waiting like a kid at xmas time)

Thanks mate, I've contacted them for some details.

hey dude, try CEVA Logistics they bought out toll transport automotive division,
if you were to go with anyone i would definitely recommended them full enclosed trailers if requested, these guys transport alot of the big show car's from state to state, as well as race cars

G'day Snowy,

I used TNT when I had mine shipped from Adelaide to Perth. Some combination of train & truck I was never sure...but I paid a bit extra to make sure it was fully enclosed. Turned up a bit dusty but I think that was from the previous owner not the transport guys.

Where would this fictional car be located? There's different companies that service specific areas. Toll or TNT would be major ones. Have heard some bad things about them though when it comes to lowered cars and such. It's advised to take pics before the car is transported, to ensure arrives in same condition. There's a few threads on other forums I might be able to find later.
Some companies are more focused on the car arriving mint, others lower cost. Most don't allow any spare parts to be within the car when it's being transported.

from another forum:
CarMover: http://www.cartransport.com.au/
$440 - Syd to Melb. Insurance only for fire, theft, collision, etc. Not on the goods in the car. Need about 24-48 hour notice. 3 trucks leaving Sydney weekly. Door - Door.

Toll: $420, 48 hours notice, 3-4 days delivery time. Not sure bout insurance

SMB (Sydney Melbourne Brisbane): $385 + GST, to not got to depot's in Syd or Melb.
Syd depot to Melb depot $245. $315 from workshop to Melb Depot. $385 syd workshp to Port Melbourne.

Other places haven't contacted. Finemores, TNT Couriers.
