Just wondering if there is any interest in older Audi's say 70's-80's.

I used to have a 5 + 5 many years ago and at the time was a fantastic car.

Also had a couple of Foxes but we don't want to go too far down that path.

Before the fox there was what I suppose was the equivalent of an Audi 100? anyone know what that was. I think early 70's. That was a beast!

I loved driving early 1980's - 100's, 200's and 200 turbo's real plush and cornered like an oversized lounge suite on wheels.

Pity they didn't have TV's in cars back then, closest I got was a black and white 30cm with a cigarette lighter adapter.:)

There aren't too many real Audi's on this site (to my knowledge), which is a bit of a shame. I dont think I've seen any old audi on the road, a few late 80's early 90's 80's and 90's, but that's about it.

I've got an 1985 Audi 80 Sport, which is pretty bloody nice, but actually handles alright, surprisingly almost!

The first Audi's you are thinking of is the Audi 90 Super. Very expensive when new even back then. Not many left now though.

That's mine. There was a rare 100 manual (100KW) 5cyl from 78' or so for sale near me recently for $700 or so.

Cool. Jarred your 80 looks very similar to the 5 + 5 i suppose that was the evolution line.

Thanks Gareth checked that out and joined.

Evorobin, Had one of those too but unfortunately not the quattro, It was a 1991 90 Sports it went faster because I did a hot up by sticking an S4 badge on it:). They are a great car and awesome back then. Was the best car I have owned till I got a my current A4.

Hi I served my apprenticeship when Audi and VW were in the same bed back in 1988. I was Pre delivering Audis like Robins Quattro (Happy days)
Back then i must admit we did take them for granted and im glad i took at least a couple of pics. Here is a couple i had 1st is my Beloved UR with the Mighty RR engine and the 2nd is my Coupe with a 7A. The Coupe pics were a kind of before and after a timing belt and water pump replacement. I recently bought an 80 and have a thrwad running on that, its 2.3 5Cyl Ke jetronic
Cheers

Now thats a nice quattro, I've got a VW/Audi promo video of these things running rallies when they blitzed everyone including some great footage at Pikes Peak. I'll have to look and see if its still in the cupboard and see if my old VHS still works crack a few beers and dream of the days when I was young.

I've had a couple of old Audis.
First a 1985 100 that turned out to be a real dud, well, I only paid 100 bucks for that, nevertheless, as I tried to get it back on the road I discovered parts to be expensive and difficult to find. Even though I always liked them, I probably would never get one again as they're not really practical anymore. As for the older C2 ones, haven't seen one for at least a year.

For the past few years I've had my 80, that's been great. Comparatively common, it's been reliable as well, I guess because it's a simpler car. Pic below.

My old man had a UR 1984 model back in Ireland.
What a car I would love to own one. I have looked at a couple out here but people want silly money for them.

I just bought an Audi 200Turbo from an old couple in Edgecliff in Sydney.
It has 32,000Km's on the clock and has been owned by the (very wealth) old mans wife since new. Car has never been out of edgecliff and thus the low Ks. Will be picking it up on Tuesday evening and will upload pics of it then. It really is in jaw dropping condition. For the record, people on this forum appear to be more interested in Old Audi's then the crew over at OzAudi.

I've had two now... one 1988 90q and a 1990 Cq, both with the 2.2 10V KV motor. Loved them both. The Cq was a lago blue one (I think) and was my daily driver and the 90q was my project for which I had a KG motor from a 200T to be swapped in.

That was in NZ though and I scrapped the 90q and the Cq was written off when a muppet decided it would be a good idea to make a u-turn on the motorway in front of me. I'm on the lookout for a good base quattro for another project but I need a garage first!
