Hey all,
Noticed the Mk1's roof lining is looking quite bad. am i able to respray the roof lining at all? (with a vinyl paint?)
Its currently white, but has a lot of orange and some otrher stains (don't ask me!)

I have seen painted ones and they look ok.
Or if you have a wife or girlfriend, or mother with a sewing machine, new ones are not hard to make.
I bought material from a car upholstery place for $40 and the Mrs turned it into a lovely headlining in about an hour, using the old one as a template.

its prob worth doing it yourself too cause i got a quote for $200. (full replacement)

The second one I made was better, but cost me less than 20 bucks for some black vinyl from spotlight.

Just take your old one out and there is a template. They come out easy too, with the hangers an all ;)

got the wife (no girlfirend ;) )
But no sewing machine.
might have to look into it though as 40 is still cheap!

No unfortunately I never got a picture of the better one I made but was much much better and considering my first effort looks pretty good, it looked awesome.
The one pictured I didn't curve the loops enough and I didn't leave myself enough material to go up to the c pillars. Still looks good though.
