Common we have time for one more cruise before the silly season kicks in. So what dates and places people. Persoanly i can only make either the 2nd or 16th of novemeber. So come one throw some ideas around.
Last one was up the coast. if im not mistaken. So where now.

At the moment any weekend during November is good for me. As per usual who knows if that'll be the case closer to the date that we decide on though (stupid work scheduling).
Don't forget there was that awesome cruise through the back of Currumbin and up to Mt Tambourine. Oh wait the majority of you dopes didn't bother and missed an awesome drive. :nana::biggrin:
Are there any good drives out Toowoomba way?
Cheers,
Trent

I hope you do have a cruise. I am here until 19 Nov before I move up to Townsville. I got a cruise in to Wisemans while I was living in Sydney...
If there is one in November... I'm there for sure. :)

That's not really a route, cos you end up about a billion kms from where you start. And a billion kms from civilisation too :)
I reckon the first half of that route, then the 2nd half can head back towards where we start rather than taking us out bush.
I can't drive, but I think I'll be riding shotgun with someone.

thats way too big a cruise....especially for us Goldy boys. we have to drive an hour before we even start so we'd be doing 9 hours of driving that day. i only get about 350km out of a tank, there'd have to be a few BP's on the way. as sam said, do half that, and then turn around and head back on a different route. much more appealing.
I can't drive, but I think I'll be riding shotgun with someone.
you can jump in with me if you haven't got a seat with someone else.

So anyway back on track... What's our modified trip to Toowoomba looking like anyone? (Assuming that's what this cruise is going to be)...

Couple of alternatives for your thoughts
a) Cut the coast boys some slack and once you hit esk head back towards ipswich along dam instead of heading up to toowomba. Then they can always jump on the logam motorway home. Really shortens the cruise though
b) from Esk head north to the Daguilar from there east till you hit woodford. Then head south over Mt Mee to Dayboro (great lookout up top and great bakery in Dayboro as well as another good mountain to do). From dayboro head onto Dayboro road to Bruce highway where coast boys can jump on the gateway home, and the rest of us back towards town. If not dayboro road heading to the bruce then head to samford which is basically back where you started and only 15min from Dayboro

How about I'm going to take a punt, and say there could be quite a few new people about, who might not want a long cruise to start off with. So just a suggestion, make it a bit shorter and maybe a tad more of a meet and greet with a bit of a nice drive.
Maybe with a longer drive for those who want to after?
My thoughts anyway.
That and its way easier to organise :P

Yeah looking at the "Who lives on the Gold Coast" thread I think there's a bit of a need for a bit of a drive and more meet and greet type day where everyone can meet one another, take a few photos, have a bite to eat etc. I know I'm the one who sugested Toowoombah but I think a big SE QLD meet and great would be good for the forum. Thoughts?
Cheers,
Trent

Sometimes they work good if they are in the middle too. Northsiders have a small meet and cruise down, southsiders / goldy people do the same. Brings everyone together in their smaller local groups, then everyone together as a whole.
I'm not new and I don't particularly want to go for a long drive either!
I'd have no second thoughts about being involved in more of a meet and greet day.
We don't even have local groups that I know of! Probably the biggest thing I miss about the old Mazda club, were the fortnightly Wednesday night social meets - great time to meet and talk about who got what/from where etc.

Yeah, the Cootha thing is good, used to do that stuff all the time. Just send the message out, meet here, this time.
SAU used to have it pretty good, no idea what its like now.
Id probably think something a little more adventurous than Cootha tho.

well i like where this is going, Jasons route was massive  haha and the meet n greet idea is great, just where now :tapfingers:
Even if it has to be Cootha this time; just test the waters, see how it goes?
I'm just brainstorming here, but other places we use to meet were - Kangaroo Point cliffs (top or bottom), under Story Bridge, top of Indro Shopping Centre carpark. Bear in mind it was mid-week.
