1st November G.O.R. Cruise

More details soon but me and my friend Mitch are planning a cruise to go down to Lorne via the Great Ocean Road.

It would be good to see some participation :) and some vw's coming along :D

starting in the eastern part of melb meet somewhere central to people and then heading down to Lorne with stops on the way for lunch. Will stop at Torquay and some other destinations along the way to get some photos and to have a good old chat!

hahaha, u probs will because mine is completely stock and i have only been driving by myself for a week :) you on the other hand have been driving before i was even born (how sad :nana: ). Nar it should be good if we get enough people and if its not too much of a cruise ( if you get me ) :driver:

we will be going through the city at this point but this may change, so some input would be appreciated. stopping points are still being finalised.

We'll meet at the Shell Roadhouse next to Maccas near the point cook offramp. I reckon if we meet up at say 9:45. That should give us time because google reckons its 54 minutes from the meet point to Laverton.

I just remembered about this cruise & also remembered about the same weekend.

I don't want to rain on anyones parade, or spoil anyone's planning, but this weekend is huge down the coast & will be a nightmare for anyone who plan's on making the trip down. Especially if you plan on a spirited drive. IMHO the GOR suck's for that anyway & would much prefer the inland route as per the one last year. All the sceptic's last year quickly changed there mind's about this.

First off you've got the Toast of the Coast which is a wine/food festival at nearly all the Surf Coast, Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula vineyard's this weekend.

You've also got the Melb. Cup the following Tuesday & from memory alot of the Melbournian's take the Monday off & make it an extended long weekend & alot of them also make the trip down the coast.

I'm out of this one fella's.

If it were me, I'd make it couple of weekend's later.

*WEST SIDE PEOPLE - I'm planning a meet at Bruce Comben Reserve (melways 53 C12) in Laverton for all you westerners. i have some honda buddies down that way so when its definate i'll let you know!

Date: Saturday 8th November 2008


Time: 9am for 10am departure


Meet Point: Templestowe Reserve (Melways ref. Map 33,G3). Near the roundabout at Porter Street and Fitzsimons Lane. We will stop in Geelong for petrol (for those who need it) and a stretch and continue to Torquay for lunch before hitting the Great Ocean Road... we will turn around at Apollo Bay and head back. should be back in Melbourne by 6-6.30pm (maybe later)


What to Bring:

* Full Tank of Fuel
* Money for Lunch
* CB Radio (if you have one)
* Digital Camera's, Videos Camera's & Tripods
* Clean up your cars for photo shoot
* Mature Attitude

Who should Attend: All welcome not just Honda's (spread the word to other Honda drivers whom arn't on this forum)

*My car has recently sustained some damage but is drivable so if you think your car isn't up to scratch dont worry... bring it along...

cruise was great!!!!!!!!!!!!

had about 10 cars because all you vw's bailedddddd.

But it was a great cruise!! had a tiny bit of rain on the way back this arvo and that was all :D
