Agreed.

Especially the 5dr Golf.

I've only ever seen 1 Polo GTI driven by a girl and I see it most days driving past my work at Hamilton... number plate 'DYE'. She looks hot too :)

Yeah - I saw her once in Bulimba - black car from memory? I think she has also blacked out the VW badge on the grille.

Here's something I've noticed over the past few days.

Does the GTI just attract ****heads? This is my first (for lack of a better term) sports car.

There seems to be no end of fools who as soon as they see me coming up alongside them, decide they need to show me what the rear of their car looks like by flying past me and cutting me off. With the ocassional wheel spin, looking at me in their rear view mirror. I keep thinking it's just my area which are known for these type of drivers, this is nothing new. But now I feel as though my car is like a magnet and I'm being targetted. I never had this issue in my Lancer.

Anyone else noticed this and had a similiar experience?

People tail gate my GTI really badly, the funniest bit is they are too busy concentrating on the back of my car to notice the corner and assume they don't need to brake either.

certainly do my friend. get idiots in jap imports revving at the lights trying to get my attention for a race. i just give it a launch off the line and leave them in the dust. the funniest part is after you've been off the gas for quite a while, they all of a sudden come screaming past thinking you are still racing and they've caught and past you. hahahahah.....virgins. j:

I do the same thing, yesterday had some guy in a 90s laser which he had replaced pretty much every panel and door with what could only of been salvaged panels but they were all different colours every single one :duh:

When I used to own my Sport Clio 172, I tried as hard as I could to bait Polo GTI's into racing me, even ones that I saw were weaving and fanging it - and they never would. Golf GTI's were reluctant too. I raced a Golf 2.0 TDI before any other VW car, it was surprising.

Now with the Polo 1.9 TDI, every time I see a Polo GTI they seem to want to prove to me what I already know, that their car is better and faster then mine?

I don't gets it... lol :duh:

lol that happened to me in my vr6. eastern freeway in melbourne, last set of lights before the entrance to a freeway, and i was behind this late model nissan silvia.

flashed him twice to let him know i wanted to play, and quickly moved out from behind him and overtook him. 5 seconds later, after all was said and done, he comes screaming past at what must have been about 150. poor guy, i just waved hello out the sunroof, lol.

speaking of which, golfman- how is the chip going? have you managed to put better rubber on the car yet? i can only presume that the standard contiecosavers (lol!) must be crap with the chip in.

do you feel like you're driving a different car, like all the gti guys say after getting chipped?

hey, is your number plate ***777? (you can fill in the blank- just thought for privacy reasons.....)

if so, did you see a fat guy in a metallic light blue 4 dr polo tailing you down elgar road today?

that was me, scott. man, your car is DAMN nice. the condition of your car (if it WAS yours) made me go straight to bunnings and get a drill-bit buffing attachment for waxing

gorgeous car, man.

OK ... Obviously I should have thought about this a little more when I started this thread. I did not intend it to come out as a 'street-racing' thread and (of course) this forum does not condone street racing in any form. So I'm gonna close this thread.
