Does anyone know if the front brakes and calipers off subaru liberty's and wrx's fit on the Polo GTI's? I have a mate who is upgrading his and I thought that it may be a cheaper upgrade than R32 or TT brakes. They have the same stud pattern so the rotors shouldn't be an issue but I'm unsure about the calipers. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers,

John

My mate has a liberty. The fronts are 2 pot calipers and 315 (or 325 can't remember) rotors. As most people are upgrading to this sort of spec with the R32/TT brakes I thought this would be a cheaper option, although it would mean fitting Jap parts to a Euro car :duh:

The issue in upgrading the front brakes is the caliper carriers. You need an Audi part for this for the 312mm upgrade (don't know what's the go for the R32)

It wouldnt be the easiest route to take but it is possible. However you may or may not require some custom made parts to complete the fitment.

If he is a good mate then he could always lend them to, try it and then you will have your answer.

:n: And dont forget to post the outcome of your experiment. :)

the reason people normally stick with the oem upgrades is that most of the parts bolt up without much messing about.
To do something like this you would no doubt need to fabricate some sort of adaptors. Fine if you have to skills to do it yourself. But paying someone else to do it for you might make the OEM upgrades start looking more affordable.
