Welcome to the forum, Liam. Personally I can't make any particular recommendation for OZ wheels in the city ... but if you find one ... keep us informed.

Mainly 'cause they don't sell Polos in the U.S.of A.
I bought one OZ Superturismo off them last year as a spare.
Just ordered it by size/offset.

The cheaper one's are 17x7, not too sure what size the more expensive one's are. You can also email them for all the info or if your a Sydney local you can go to their shopfronts, 1 in Menai and the other in Engadine.

ressurecting abit of an older thread here rather than making a new one.

i rang up that wheel/tyre shop in engadine enquiring about a set of oz racing ultraleggeras. I was told that the 17x7s would not fit the polo gti due to having an offset of 45?

Was this guy having me on, or does anyone know what the offset is for the ultraleggeras. He suggest some enkei wheels (k-finn, monza and monaco) and again the ones i like (GTC01) he wasnt able to give me any information on LOL or wasnt really willing to help.

Im seriously putting it down to being a female LOLLL can anyone help me out??

we have an offset of either 35 or 38 (from memory) depending on year model (might be 38 and 43??:?). the 45 offset is for subaru wrx's and liberty's etc. to fit on the Polo you will need a set of spacers or they won't clear your brakes. spacers will prob cost about $300 for a decent set and are illegal.

you are better off looking for a set of them with a 35 offset.

lora they are obviously just stocking wrx ones inthat case just tell them nicely that they are available in our offset and to get their act together ;)

haha, thats the ticket. make them look like the idiots. just give them the "well i thought you guys would have known that these come in a 35 offset as well.....you what sorry.....you didn't.....isn't that your job?" and then top it off with a "well i'm a girl and i even knew that"

It's the biggest headache i have had in regards to the polo. They should be happy they have a potential customer wanting to buy some oz racing wheels LOL

Id rather steer clear of using spacers and get the correct offset. All these issues LOL its just wheels, how hard can it possibly be? I can understand if the stud pattern is wrong but come on, theyd have to stock a variety of offsets...

I might have to do some running around this weekend and go in person and harass them

I was doing some looking around and I found that Taleb Tyres @ Arncliff had the ultraleggera's fitted with tyres in a 17x7 for $2300 last month. They may still have the same deal going. Here's the link

Might have to have a chat to Ray and see what they are like. It says packages are starting from $2300 so i guess it varies depending on the quality of tyres you opt for.

hmmm interesting

well i spoke to the taleb crew..

they stock 45 offset to suit WRX's.. not enuf polo drivers buying these wheels :duh:

they can get 35-38 offset but needs to be ordered .. looking at about $400-500 per rim

and as a package with michellin pp2 tyres roughly $3500 or cheaper with ****er tyres lol

jasn78, Rays post sums it up basically. He rang up taleb tyres and they gave me the option of ordering them in from overseas as the offset was unavaible LOL unless we can organise a group buy ;)

Unless the exchange does something dramatic (which is highly unlikely), i wont be getting wheels for some time. I have my heart set on these and id rather wait then buy something i wouldn't be entirely happy with...

You may hae already seen this but here is a link to all the suitable Polo 9N wheels available from Oz.
http://http://www.ozracing.com/at-team/wheels/choose-a-wheel/VOLKSWAGEN/POLO-11.2001/-15-16-17-18/en

As you can see only certain Oz wheels are offered for the Polo. Its a shame as the ones I really like they don't do in our size. But this may help when talking to your wheel guys.

It cam out wrong. I'll try again.

You still have to select volkswagon & then Polo 9N. Unfortunately not a lot of choice in colours for the Polo. Only really silvers, blacks and one white wheel. Some nice styles of rims but some of their best ones are not available for Polos.

It used to be AU$475 per rim for Ultraleggera's before the dollar hemeraged. I think if you can get them for AU$500 per rim now you should get it (that would make it only about $2500 with crappy tyres (Teleb selling their packages from $2300).

I know the Enkei's I was looking at jumped from $540 per rim to $750 (can't remember the model).
