I bought a Xcarlink MP3 adaptor for my 2007 Model Golf comfortline. (link below)

After fitting the unit and connecting it to the radio, everything seem to be working beside the steering wheel controls.

I was wondering if anybody else uses one of these adaptors and tell me if the steering wheel controls work for their unit, or if that feature needs to be programmed into the car, or worse if my unit is faulty.

thanks

To me, that looks like a simple CD Changer emulator. Your steering wheel buttons control the radio, which then controls the CD Changer (xcarlink) If you can control the xcarlink using the radio, then the steering wheel controls should work for volume. For changing tracks, you will need a full screen trip computer to be able to control it through the steering wheel!

Thanks Lams,

Thanks for info, good to know. I am happy enough with the unit itself.

cheers,
