I'm going to have a look at this shortly. However, surely at this price there must be a catch. Or maybe I'm just being too pessimistic?

realistic price, particularly for leather, try to get it down to $21000 though...

I think that's a bargain ... considering mileage & leather.

Almost sounds too good to be true. If this was around 2 weeks ago I would have bought this one instead of the one I have. Make sure REVS checks out cause remember the saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it generally is".

That's exactly what I thought. Sounds way to good to be true, there must be something. Will soon find out!

also, check if the panels line up, particularly on the bumpers and the front grill. Maybe the car's just been repaired from an accident and the owner no longer wants to car...

A bargain with those kms - either he is utterly desperate or there is something wrong with it - accident repair?

i would BE VERY SUSS with that. only 2,200km and asking price $22,000 gee..

just make sure you check REVS website before making a purchase, also asked where he bought the car from? dealer or private.. if it was private FORGET ABOUT IT!

do an ALL STATES revs check on the car, its probably a writeoff in QLD or something

Well ... it's got NSW plates (not that that means it necessarily originated there), but has anyone considered the seller might just be in a financial bind and liquidating assets as quickly as poss?

Might be reading too much into this ... I mean ... it's about Red Book value.

Polo's just tend to be overpriced in general for sale online, 20k seems to be the magic number, and close to 18.5 - 19k for a standard one...

It is the redbook value but it also has 13000kms less than the average that value is based on. I paid $26500 at a dealer last week for a 07 GTI.

IMO I would approach this very carefully.:spy:

Get a revs check done if you're suss.

There are people out there(like me) who price things to sell and are not ignorantly blind to the fact they will lose money selling cars...

i would doubt there is anything sus goign on here. he could be in the same situation i was in. i had bought my polo and still hadn't sold my peugeot so i put it on carpoint for about $2,500-$3,000 less than everyone else's on there. i didn't really care how much i got for it, just as long as it was gone. i had what i wanted :D. like flaps said, i reckon it is 'priced to sell', the exact same as what i did.

chances are, these people that are asking $23,500-$24,000 etc for theirs, i bet you could talk them down to $22,000.

ended up selling the peugeot to my older sister for damn cheap....she now carries 'THE BURDEN'

as someone who wasted money on inspections on "cheap, priced to sell" polos, my advice still stands

lets put it this way

the first one had been for a swim in the QLD floods
