Matchbox Golf V GTI (Black) Diecast: Where?

Hi there!

I was just wondering if anyone knows where I can find the Matchbox Golf V GTI (black) diecast in Sydney? I've looked in every supermarket and K-Mart I've been to and even in Singapore but have had no luck in finding one. The only available source I know of is on eBay but international shipping is a killer! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think that this particular series has been superseded. I have a red and black one, and I am a collector and check Kmart regularly and have not seen them for ages.

I found this one on eBay but it is in the US. Not too badly priced though !! Works out at about $13.30 AU

I got a replica model of mine from the dealer for nothing when I got my GTI .. it wasn't a matchbox though and was only three door model ..

Try KMart, Coles, Big W, Target, Toys R Us, Myer etc.

The best ones are in the rural areas where VWs are rarer.

Yep I too believe it's been discontinued. I picked mine up about 6-7 months ago from Big W for $1.97 (or whatever they are) :D

dont worry you will find one! i searched for ages before i stumbled upon mine at a Coles in the Mandurah forum. i felt sorry for the poor kid who stacked the shelves because i went through ALL the cars on the rack... then i realised i didnt really care!
my little GTI and now it lives on my desk.
if all else fails theres always ebay.

You have to read the label on the bottle more carefully !!! Some car washing additives can have that effect !!! :biggrin:

My son has two of them, white and blue, thought they were Hotwheels version of the W12 GTI. Could be wrong though. Very Cool. Wife also has matchbox version Golf V GTI in Black.8)

Yep I've got that one and a blue one of that model sitting on my desk at work. Hot Wheels also have the Audi R8 doing the rounds at the moment. Keep your eyes peeled. :wink:
