Hi guys,

Dad just got a 1997 polo and was wondering if 3.1 -3.2k rpm was to high for 100kmh in 5th. He also says it has plenty off pull and will go to 100 to 120 with no problems, shouldnt be that easy to got from 100 to 120 he is saying.

What do you rekon?

all depends how it is geared and what engine. My 07 1.6 polo does around 2900-3100 at 110-120km/h. but i do think it needs another gear for highway travel. My parents jetta once in 6th only uses 2000 at those speeds and thus is much quieter.

Very much depends on your car gear ratio and final drive. These are being set to suit the power band of your engine, assuming it's stock

Its a 1.6L 1997 polo with standard box. Everything els is standard also. I know it depends on the ratio and final drive, ive played GT haha. I just need to know if that is normal for a standard 1.6 5spd polo.
