So, which event would you prefer?

Vote for your first preference, then we can get it down to a couple options.

i went with drag (in drag attire maybe:? j: long wig hair flowing out the window heading down the quart), main reason is i've never done one and want to have a crack at it. i reckon it would be awesome and get some great snappies. in regards to track, don't you need to have done a driving course. just can't afford that sort of thing at the moment.

There was no venue for the meet up, that can be another poll later :drinkbeer:

Guy might be able to fill us in on the logistics of organising a track day, I've done one before so I should be right on the track, but never organised one so got no idea what to do :duh:

So ... is it the pub before the drags? Or after?:wasntme: And since we're going to the pub (and telling lies) ... fishing stories should be allowed too, huh?

How many times can we vote?

I'm stuck between drag (still a bit worried, but it is sooooo good) and a meeting at a pub......:drinkbeer:

The dyno day WOULD be good for a chat .... mmmmm .... I'll sleep on it....

isn't there a dyno day already being organised through Guy in August sometime. i thought this was in addition to that. but i suppose that dyno day only allows for 6 cars on the rollers doesn't it.

whatever is planned.....as long as there is good opportunity for photo shoots

aaahhh ok....me understands now :)

is it an option to just leave it as the dyno day for the time being and we can converse there and get some ideas up - then come back back here and put our final idea up and see see the EOI.

I vote cruise and a drink at the pub afterwards.

I'd also be keen on a track day, but problem rests upon how much our group can barter for the track day hire. Also, need to invest in a lid as well!

I voted drag... track day would be expensive considering wear on tyres, brakes etc not to mention the cost per head...

Wednesday test 'n tune at willowbank for $36 is good value and no real prep is required... just wear long sleves and pants plus remember to throw your helmet in.. That and take out your spare, jack, rear seat etc :-P

i don't think you'd wear anything less than long sleeves and long pants anyway at this time of year. i'd be there in a bloody snow suit! especially at Willowbank, it'd get bloody cold there at night.

I'm keen for a meetup/cruise but will come along to meet everyone no matter what the event.

If you want to do a track day - contact joel@sdt.com.au - he can put the Polo owners in with another group. They use Morgan Park at Warwick though.

Takes the stress out of having to organise it yourself.

When's the next Drive GTI track day? Or the level 4?

Looks like there's 9 interested Polos in Brisbane, 4 said drag (I think they confused the attire with the motorsport). Unfortunately that was my last preference :(

Does someone want to organise that then?

i know.....heres how it will work:

- the 4 draggers can head to the strip for some all out fuel burning, tyre shredding MAYHEM MAYHEM MAYHEM (spoken in the monster truck mayhem voice ;))
- the 2 trackers can hit the circuit and race.............each other :driver::driver::checkeredflag:
- the 2 cruisers can hit the mountain and enjoy the scenery with.........each other (how romantic)
- and that leaves 1 person who can......well........meet up with himself!:tapfingers:

HAHA, i will probably not be here so take 1 person from the drag tally and you can all fight amongst it.

is it just me or does this not seem to be getting anywhere. if i was not heading away i would have made phone calls and already made prelim. plans - subject to confirmation. someone take action and make a decision. seeing as i won't be here, make it a track or cruise day and wait til i get back for some 1/4mile action :D

Mate give it a couple of more days, as there are a few still that havent voted. And there was definitely one option left out........ I AM KEEN FOR ANYTHING. As that would have been my choice.

Love it...

I'm thinking cruise (and maybe end at a pub?), cos it can be done on a weekend and should be quicker to organise (since we wanted to fill in the time before the dyno day). Let's leave the hard organising to Guy (Drive GTI day wink wink nudge nudge)

Hey Mate... Just come out and have a crack while your there.. One run you might come up against a hilux and the next a 10 sec falcon!!

You get as many runs as you can fit in a nite.. I even did it once in my excel before i started to mod it :)

Ha, I was hoping you could help with map books etc like you mentioned in previous threads (plus I don't want to be the leader of the drive due to a certain small number of points on my license :wasntme:)

As for route... I'm thinking Mt Glorious/Nebo.

Yeah mate i will help with books np let me know what i can do, but i have the same problem as you with regards points. If you want the cruise i organised first was up nebo down back of glorius then around the dams then back over mt mee and finished at the dayboro(spelling:wasntme:) pub. Any other ideas.

Sounds perfect, I live at Samford so that's basically looping around my house :D

However... ending at Samford pub would allow me to get smashed and walk home
