i'm up for a drive pretty much every weekend (sunday am usually), but will have to give this one a miss. Just had some more surgery on my back (get out tomorrow) so wouldn't want to be driving miss daisy, ruining the fun and breaking my spine on the coilovers :)
Have a good time guys, stay safe wherever you go.

Not really a fan of the coast drives myself... unless it's sunny and I'm driving alone. Too many other cars and attention, and yeah, it's dead flat and straight.

Perhaps we should start a little earlier if some have to be back for midday.

i live east, so made sense for me to stay on SW hwy! then i could drive at a slower pace =)
had a great time, apart from getting done for speeding over the narrows (I think) :duh:
I'm defiantly thinking the drives are more of a boys day out! my little beast just couldn't keep up!!

I used to lead in my GL quite often... (the trick with a GL is to keep your revs up high ;) )

We will always wait at a turn off for everyone to catch up, so drive at the pace that you feel comfortable with, it's definitely not a race.

Great lil drive guys, no one broke anything i hope? Except for Mat's headlight cover lol
Weather held up really well for the most part. We got drizzled on a bit up at Canning Dam and there was another shower later on but the rest was sunshine!
More pics?

well that is good to know. if i weren't so darn shy i would have spoken more! guess i was concerned about getting too far behind and getting lost but now i know about the corner stops. great idea.
a few of my pics turned out pretty good, so i shall post soon. just need a little advice on using my pentax better!
just curious, have you had females on drives before?

runamuk
02-07-2008, 02:42 PM
Normally we'd stop for lunch somewhere and have a yabber, but time was a bit tight, so only a drive was really possible.

There's been a few ladies who have come along on drives in the past, usually as passengers, or sometimes you'll find a couple who are dub freaks.

What made you decide to buy a golf? (my ex had one and I loved it, so I needed my own)

well i was looking for a car so i had more incentive to learn to drive, quickly reaching the age of 25! i'm blessed with looking young and innocent!
had a fair amount of knowledge of VW in the past, family had owned a few beetles. stumbled across a golf in the paper and thought wow they're pretty awesome little cars. then i guess i went in search for one. most were out of my price range to begin with, then i happened to sell my vespa scooter (12 months later!) and the next day this blue golf appeared online.
gave it a shot and it all worked out. best car i could have ever wished for. left handed indicator for a left handed human.
