Weather permitting?? I've hardly driven the Mk1 at all so keen to see some of you again and go for a drive :) I have to work to 3am on Sunday morning but am still keen to get back out by 10am before the traffic and the grey brigade hit the streets!!!

Weather permitting... Up the East Coast sounds good or maybe down South to Kettering around the Coast then back up to Hooterville. Where & when do you guys wanna meet up? Salamanca @ 9:30am for 10:00 departure?

i still think that a drive to the strathgordon and dams would be nice, and great to take some pics up there!

9:30 for 10 sounds good ;)

I'm not too phased where we go... the main thing with going early this time of year is the dew on all the roads!!!

The drive to Eaglehawk Neck is pretty good, but last time I did that, despite the sun, most of the corners were soaked :(

How about we meet on the top level of Wrest Point c'park - really good for photos up there when there's no other cars.

Sounds good :D I'll have to go cruising in the Audi so with the quattro system the dew is fine with me :D

Mk1 nearly ready......... only a couple of weeks away now :)

Nice!!!!!

What power output are you chasing?

Nothing like the sort of output you are after, but with the FMI and exhaust it should be putting out 240bhp :D Will put up full spec when it's all finished!

Rob....plenty more opportunities to get out and about, especially with the warmer weather on the way!

240hp is more than enough in a Mk1 & should also be very tractable.
It will also be bloody quick too!
I look forward to see the spec.
Very clean setup aswell. Well done.

It was a great morning. A little brisk, so we saved the run up the East Coast for later in the year. Pologti and Mickinoz lead the way through some tight, narrow and bumpy sections around the Collinsvale area! Paul fell in love with his Mk1 all over again :D Britchie made an appearance in his mint Mk1 GLS and Valver inspired us all with his stunning Mk1.....what a sweet car!!!

Thanks guys!!

East coast run will be on for me if it's later in the milking season. We have 2 employees now so I'll be able to get away. Driving the TDI I'll actually be able to keep up with (most) of you guys ;)

fixed the suspension problem. golfwise gave me some lower stiff bump stops. the car was sitting on them the whole time. i raised it up as well, so the lower control arms were level. it looks a bit higher but handles brilliantly, just as well if not better than my old white car did. it only takes 30 minutes to wind it back down so it looks good....and any way, there are plenty of photos of it low now:)

i always new it was to low but couldn't bring myself to admit it.....

plans are afoot now. 2l going in soon. hey valver, the white car owner says the fuel pump was replaced. did you do that or did they. because i changed it twice. i had the tank cleaned properly cause there was grot in it, but it went fine after that. it may have been getting fuel starvation and over heating?? Just wondering cause the fuel system in the beige golf was going to be the same although i might try and get a full pressure swimmer pump so i dont have to run two of them..
