Finally picked up my new toy on Monday. Delivery went all good except the bloody weather. I still don't have time to read up the manual on how to use this and that. Some of the features on the car are pretty straight forward like opening the sunroof, Electric Park Brake, Cruise...etc. The RNS510 looks awesome but need a little bit of time to play around with the thing as it has got too many features. Program the key to the memory seat was a bit of a trouble. Too many steps to do according to the manual. Luckily the salesman demonstrated to me how to set it up. Otherwise it would take me ages to figure it out. Now the seat position and mirror setting will change when different key is used. Bi-Xenon is so cool, can see them swirl when entering a corner, also the cornering light will light up as well for better vision. Very clever technology and very please with that. Also I was surprised that there are 2 little lights under both side mirrors which will illuminate when you lock/unlock the car. Also the passenger side mirror will dip on "Reverse" for vision of the kerbs. Both side mirrors can fold in automatically. I am very pleased with all these gadgets.

I've been driving it quite conservatively and the consumption on the MFD showing 6.3l/100km. Not bad for first tank as I have no clue how much did the dealer put in. Excellent sound proving, road noise is at minimal and rattle free at this moment. Car is very solid, my son having problem opening the door as its too firm and heavy.

It's worth to wait for 5 months with all these options and for those of you in WA, I would recommend Osborne Park VW if you are considering to buy a VW as the customer services and advises that they provided are one of the best I've seen in town. I will post some pictures when the car is cleaned on the weekend. :)

Congratulations, enjoy the ride!

Does the reversing mirror dip come standard on all models?

If so, how do you enable it?

Not on MY08 model, now only comes with electric seats with memory:mad: but I would love to know if a simple? fix such as plug in the appropriate control module makes it available.

I can't get mine to work either as the MFD setup entry that the manual refers to that turns it on /adjusts intensity just ain't there:(

Which Photo u talking about?

R? R32 or R36 or R50? As when I picked up my car last Monday, there was a blue R50 in the showroom with the "SOLD" sign. Or you were talking about the picture that my car was in the yard (just received from Patrick's autocare) with all the masking tapes on it.

The sales person was Christian Sieg. Excellent salesperson and he's normally dealing with Fleet sales.

Sorry....I was referring to the shot at Patrick's......

So...they have sold the R50 eh? My missus reckons $130k was a bit too much, but she did like the R50. Thank god she has some sense when it comes to $$$'s

I have heard good feedback about Christian. I also recommend Ian Scott. As for other sales guys there.....I'll wait until i get the car first.

Yeah, Ian is good too. He actually helped me out for programming the key to the memory seats and mirrors. Both of them are pretty good.

The steering wheel looks different from the standard one (bottom metal plate). It looks similar to the one in Golf GT. Did you pay extra for that?

Thanks for the quick answer. Did you have the whole steering wheel changed or just the metal plate on the bottom? I like to have it on my New Passat which is going to be delivered next week.
