Got bored at work today and had a look at all the bits i had lying around.

Then I grabbed this Ibiza 1.4 and ripped its puny heart out.

The rear axle went too. No swaybar and drums, wont be needing them...

Here is a clue to the next bit.

What about finishing the caddy or the 20VT scirocco?????

Hmnn nice colour...

Will this be any different to the previous attempt? Or will it be just another straight out VR6 banger?

Golf Loon

Yeah someone has painted it a funky blue so it was the least I could do for it :D

The previous attempt is still well in the hands of William Mr Houso.

This one will use the factory loom and Mk3 gear and be good enough for a daily.

I am only doing this instead of the rocco as I have all the bits for this and no money for the poor Scirocco. The Rocco did get a Corrado interior in the post this week tho ;)

I am Toying with leaving it superlight 1.4 Spec, but the need for AC will hopefully prevail.

I also have quite a fetching blue leather interior kicking around too. :D

The intention with this is to do a quick build and have it running and ready to go sooner rather than later.

Watch this space...

Tis a nice colour that.

Bugger building a daily Mat you need a track sloot

youve got way too many sensible cars with leather seats and air conditioning

strip it out an bring it down ta wakefield soft lad

Golf Loon

So its gonna be a lightweight. The car is an early one and does not even have the cutout for the AC hoses. The heater etc all works so I`m sticking with less weight.

Took the dash out today and started swopping looms.

Finished the rear beam, 5 stud and brakes are all in, And my fully hectic new black bbs rims ;)

You can have this one when its finished if you want.

Dunno about easy, but yes its the same conversion. Your Polo has a skinny track which is skinnier than even a standard Ibiza, thus the wheels would stick out a fair bit wider ;)

Let's see those black rims Loon!

Here is a not very good pic of em. They look better in the flesh

Aaaah Brenton, so cynical, but correct in this case. :duh:

It has got busy again at work and I dont have time for this project.

As the Car stands the Beeza has all the VR6 subframes, brakes, 5 stud conversion and power steer rack. Also the cable shift linkage is in.
Has 5x100 ugly bbs painted black, VR6 struts.

The 1.4 Wiring has been removed. The VR6 Harness needs to be plugged into the fusebox. I have the Harness and ecu from an early uncoded VR6.

The engine and gearbox are bolted together and ready to go in. Waterpump is new and Clutch and Cooling system pipes are fresh.

I`d get rid of all of this together for $3000.

Thats the price of an engine and box with a free Ibiza.

Or I will split stuff if there is enough interest.

I have a trailer and can assist with delivery.

No worries. I reckon we`d need Beau and lots of RedBull to get that done in a weekend :)

So I ended up selling the motor out of this project to help keep Boris`s Red Rocket on the road.

I also bought a cordoba last week that was hit in the side, but has only 70,000ks from new! It was 1.8 and Auto.

Given that the blue shell is nice and registerable, we had a mad quickie project this week. The blue car is now a 1.8L Auto, runs the full cordoba loom, now has ac fitted and twin airbags :) No Auto Ibizas were sold in Oz, so it amuses me that this is the first. We put the 4 stud gear back on it and kept the disk rear. It looks smick, and factory. I`ll get some pics tomorrow.

It a testament to VAG products and SEATs in particular that everything just plugged in from different years and models. i particularly like the SEAT wiring as it is much simpler and has less electronic complexities as the VW.

We plugged it all in, put a battery on and it started first kick
Gotta be happy with that.

and the 1.8l is a good work horse of a motor.

Thanks mate. I reckon the 1.8 is a good engine too. Certainly better than the 1.4 that was in there. ;)

Got it tidied up and finished today. Took it home for a run, rego tomorrow I hope.

Got a blueslip and rego today. No worries. RTA seem to think that Cordobas and Beezas are the same, so many engine combos are possible without engineering :)
Car goes great. Might keep it as a courtesy car.
