This will display your speed as a digital readout in the rhs display of your climate control

For Climatronic, hold together the econ and air out the top buttons (ie the top button on the right with the arrow up). You will then see some odd numbers in the areas where the temperature is normally displayed. Release the buttons.
Next, turn the left temperature control until a large 19 with a small 0 to the right is visible.
Now read your actual speed on the right temperature display in kmh.

Enjoy.

Works for Most models now.

Its very handy, i have verified (in my car at least) with the overhead speed checker on the geelong freeway, and GPS that it is accurate, at least to those 2 devices.

quite surprising how far off the dash speedo actually is.

How do you turn it off? Or does it go back to normal after turning the car off?

How did you come by this info? And any other little tricks? I can't wait to try it.:)

In the GTI, I press the econ button and it goes back to normal - tap the up and econ butons again and the speedo is back.
