I would recommend Burwin VW in Burwood Highway Fertree Gully for top service and the quality of the services they have carried out on the mighty Bora.

Every time it's been in for a service it has been ready on time, clean and there has always been a follow up phone call to check that everything is to my satisfaction.

Probably the best dealer I have dealt with.

Been very happy with Burwin's spare parts department.

Had to almost twist the salesman's arm to get a drive of the new GTI though.

Dipstick holders get brittle and break real easy but throwing out the K&N is unforgivable.Hope you sued!

I wouldn't recomend anyone in Melbourne to work on a VW or as a parts supplier. I've been ripped off on OE parts, aftermarket parts (also often passed of as OE), service work(paid $800 for LABOR alone for a cambelt service), at just about every VW place around Melbourne. I usually have to get parts from OS, a VW dealership were asking $85 dollars for each hydraulic lifter and I needed 16 of them.

An all too familiar tale. Its a shame greedy service people have to make 300% on parts, as it turns people away from buying VWs.

Really don't mean to offend anyone but if you read my above comments you'll notice I paid a lot for labour on a serivce once.
J&F motors in Richmond are Repco, VW specialists. But it took them 8 hours to change my oil, water, brake fluid and cambelt(approx 5-6 hours I was calling often to check up). I left a lot lighter in the wallet that day.
Again I don't mean to offend anyone.

Volkspower are good - high-quality servicing by enthusiasts who know about VWs.
Closer to the city, Euroclass in Richmond are also good - mechanics on the level who know their stuff. Excellent prices too...

I am afraid I havent had much luck at JF either, cost very close to $4K to replace the clutch and have some brake work done ( machine the disks) and replace timing chain, somehow the casing for the gearbox was broken and my nice silver case was replaced with something almost black, I have a feeling I wound up paying for that also, in the week that settlement on my house was due perhaps it hurt more than usual. On the other hand they have almost always been able to turn the car around a lot quicker than some others.

I find it alot cheaper to just look it up on google or vortex or the best place here!!
There is always someone here who knows how to fix it. Then when you need a part you give matt a ring hehe or ebay.

If you want cheaper servicing using genuine parts, and no doubt pure honesty try VW tech. VW tech has a good knowledge of VW's and he is able to locate parts for you as well.

Had my clockspring replaced there today. Turned around quickly and reasonable price. Nice Rocco they have there as well. Seems like a nice bunch of guys. Will be going back for normal servicing. They also have free loaners - 2 x diesel Polo's. All you need to do is fill them back up with fuel. Was dam busy there this morning.
