Hi people

I am new to wasserboxers as I have had oxyboxers for years so i have a question.

When removing the heads from a Type 1 beetle motor the barrels are held in place by the case studs is this the same in the T3 motors? once you undo the nuts you cam remove the head and the rest stays in place?

I am madly trying to find a Workshop manual on these things but thought I would ask while looking for the book.

thanks

Thanks for that jets.

I am thinking of selling the complete motor maybe

It was a good runner before the valve seat dropped, I don't know its history only that about 4 months ago I took it for a drive.

Taking the heads off mate not a drama. All stays in place.
Head studs were the biggest gripe on these mate. They would corrode, snap, crack or loosen and the then blow head gaskets, usually knackering the engines. Shame. They put 1Z and AAZ diesels in them in the Uk best thing they ever done especially that 1Z motor.Good thing.
Sorry to slide off the topic slightly but yeah no drams with ya heads mate.
