BMW 318 wheels fit MK1 Golf. I had a set of 6J steels with 65 profile tyres on my first diesel and it looked great. (Should never have sold that car!)

Porsche wheels with a high offset will go on, as they are 5x130 theres enough room to get a 100mm bolt pattern on an adapter. If the rims are et52 - with 20mm thick adapter you've got et32, design 90's look awesome on most VWs IMO

You talk about adaptors. Are these PCD adaptors? And if so, can you get them to convert Peugeot 140PCD hubs to an more common stud pattern?

Ronal Turbos add that touch, the only reason i when cheap tempe tyres stuff cuz that dude was asking $550 a peice, with out tyres so $2200 with no tyres.....dreaming but they are hard to get soooo he had apoint. hmmmm u can see why i only spent $900 on my set up, with rubber!

gemini steels fit on, not sure about offset though
camira wheels will fit to but centres will have to be drilled out a bit, dont ask why u would put them on but they can go on if u really want..

Porsche 924 14"x6" 4x100mm not sure about offset.

Corolla and other 4x100mm Asian wheels don't fit 'cos the hole in the centre is too small to fit over the boss on the disc. (I tried a few at a tyre dealer).

4x100mm ROH mag wheels to suit Asian cars do fit though 'cos they made the centre hole big enough to fit anything.

Likewise I imagine any of those ridiculously low profile rim/tyre setups would work, a lot of those have dual PCDs (two sets of holes). Look pretty cool but I think if you actually drive the car hard you're better off with some sidewall!

Sod the Gemini Wheels Mate
I sold a set of Mk3 steels to a desperado with a gemini last week, same offset and obviously the Golf ones are nicer.

Cheapest option in Oz is Honda Integra, Civic or Prelude 4 stud mags.
Same stud pattern and offset. Lots of discarded 15" sets in the paper and at tyre places, as all the ricers upgrade. I paid 200notes for 4 15" x 6 5 spoke mags, with tyres. Not a slick as Ronals, but at for what I paid, i`m well happy. See them in my Avatar if you look close.

Brackie, are you sure BMW 318 wheels fit with no mods? I think the centre hole is a different size.

I have these on the mk2 at the moment but I'm bored already so if anyone wants these wheels then $800.

The wheel in the pic is someone elses as I don't have any pics online atm. Wheels are in great condition and the badges look new!

I only know of one other set in oz. These were optional/std on the 16v mk2 when sold depending on year.

I had two sets of the steelies kicking around, one left, but have taken a deposit on them. If black betty doesnt get em soon though.....
$100 a set I sell them for. Its a gift, but I dont want them.

Here is a pic of Golf Mk3 wheels and Tyres I bought in the Trading Post for $200. Looked alright on the old swallowtail. Genuine VW 1994/5 ish.

There are not many wheels that fit a Golf without problems just because they are 4 by 100 means little to the brake caliper which will always get in the way.
Stick to mk3 or similar 6 by 14s and you can't go wrong.Seat 14s look ok too.Loons got some cheap ones and would be 20 each freight from his place.
Sad but I threw some 5.5 by 13s out to the tip not too long ago as I had been trying to give them away for ages.

Guys, dont forget VW hubs are 57.1mm. Most of the wheels you are talking about are about 56.1. They wont fit. And Gemini offset is RWD. Golf is FWD offset. They can fit, but they wont handle as well, and may hit bodywork or supension....

Golf Loon
05-07-2005, 09:53 PM
Most Honda ones fit and aftermarket always have bigger holes anyway. I`ve ground a bit off the excessively large caliper in the past too. To help the rims fit!

Glad you found those Simmons. I considered bidding for them, but they are only 6" wide. The V4's I picked up are 6.5". Better for track days. V4's are quite similar, but have more curves. That Gold colour is intense.

So its RS for day to day and shows, and V4's for track and assault days...
