I am the proud owner of a 1.9tdi o5 comfort line golf with a dsg gearbox, I bought it new in november last year it now has traveled 21000km and was going great until the transmission lock up when travelling at 60km/h, It got towed to dealership where they found it needs a new multiplexing cpu witch comes from germany 6 week wait without our golf? Has anybody else had tranny concerns?

Bad luck mate. (And welcome!) I hope that the dealership is looking after you with replacement wheels while yours is being fixed. Is that in the terms of the warranty :?: Why so long to come from Europe? If VW put one in the airmail bag it should take less than a week. (I for one get a bit p*ssed off with this, "It'll have to come from Europe/US/mainland and it'll take ....weeks." In the jet age it can be on the other side of the planet in a day.)
This is the first "bad story" I've heard about the Mk5. Hope that it's the last for a while.

Ditto about the bad luck. I procrastinated over the dsg or manual for ages. Did the wheels lock up? You are lucky to come out of it in one piece.
Good luck chasing the part.

Yeh lets hope this is the one and only, vw wont lead us a vehicle it is not in the warranty policy, the dealership has lent us a 97 mitsubishi magna better than nothing can't wait to get the golf back. they are still saying a couple of weeks it has been there for 2 and a half weeks so far. The wheels did lock momentarily, no other damage done. They are a great little machine though
