Is it sacreligious to cut up an old mk1 i've got in my back yard to make a trailer with which to cart my biodiesel rig around in?

yes mate id have to say it is sacrilege. you can cut up an old holden or sumthing instead though... not that many mk1's around anymore and they need to be preserved. :)

I`ve got one too. I reckon itd make a good trailer, provided it was being towed by another Golf. I`d weld up the back doors and then cut the tops of em off.

That's exactly what i considered. Of course it would be towed by another golf. But i guess if it's worth staying whole, i might leave it whole.

I just looked today and found that the mk1 that i have on the road is in fact what you guys call a "swallowtail".. just in passing.
