Canbus connection under dash B8 Passat

Hi all

I’m hoping with all the experience on this forum that some can help me with my issue.

I purchased a second hand factory towbar and module for my 2017 Passat wagon. All is fine except I can’t find it on VCDS. I understand that there is a canbus plug under the dash that needs to be connected first. I can find this thing at all.

Would anyone have an idea on where it can be found? Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you should have a plug in the boot area specifically for when fitting a towbar. I removed a towbar from a VW Golf (2010 model) a few years back and everything was connected in the boot area. No cutting, it was all plugged in. That was a genuine VW supplied towbar.

Thanks for the help Lucas. I did manage to find the canbus connection required to complete the fit off. It was in the front passenger kick panel. I had it coded through VCDS and we are good to go.
