View Full Version : OBDeleven Stop Start Temperature Coding

Are there any obdeleven experts out there? I disabled my stop start years ago by changing the temperature in obdeleven so it was above the threshold and I have a feeling it has something to do with my heater not working. I'm trying to find where I changed it to disable it. I've looked in module 19 and adaptions but can't find it. It might have been long coding but I can't quite recall.
Cheers
Clintopn : Hi - below is a copy of my response to this exact same question from another place!!
"The 2 x channels for the SS tweak are indeed in the Gateway module @ address hex19 - like this:
EM_start_stop_requirement_ambient_temperature-Maximum_temperature
EM_start_stop_requirement_ambient_temperature-Minimum_temperature
However, your "feeling it has something to do with my heater not working" is greatly exaggerated (IMO, of course). The temperature in the adaptation channels refers to the engine temperature and the channels don't modify any control mechanism in the coolant system. These channels simply hold threshold values which the SS system uses to compare with the measured engine temperature!!
So, my suggestion is that you manage the faulty heater as a completely separate exercise.
I'm not sure why you can't find the temperature channels in your hex19 module - perhaps you actually used the "voltage method" for the SS tweak? Maybe search the hex19 module instead for:
Start/stop start voltage limit
If this channel is in your module, the factory setting should be 7.6 - if it's value is not the default setting, the "voltage method" was used for the SS tweak."

Yeah i'm pretty sure it won't have anything to do with it but it's just weird that I actually managed to get my heater working for a while by reseating my battery so was thinking it could have been due to something I changed.

This is what I see under 19. There's deactivation of start stop function but that's not set. I set it by changing the temperature i'm pretty sure just not sure where.
@Clinton: hmm........... since you have chosen NOT to provide the most basic piece of information for your question, I have no idea what model/build-year car we are talking about (it matters - as you will agree)!
Nevertheless, I'm guessing from your screenshot that this might (emphasis on "might") be a MQB platform vehicle of some type - maybe?
If my guess is correct (it may not be correct) - do this:
Fire-up OBD11 and navigate to your screenshot
Click on the Search-line on the top of the screen - then type "EM_start".
The result of the search entry above should contain a channel with the Parent name: EM_start_stop_requirement_ambient_temperature
Click on this entry - you should see the 2 x adaptation channels in my first response (i.e. Maximum_temperature AND Minimum_temperature)
