t4 2L petrol, 250.000 Km

Hi, I'm going to buy a t4 2l petrol '96 with 250.000 km for 5500 $, is it a good deal? I don't know yet the complete story of the engine, I just want to know if usually this engine lasts more than 250.000 km (i need it for a trip, say 20.000 km more...)

The Motors are strong, but some are fresher than others. Most will do 300,000kms unless neglected

interesting, but I'm in Victoria... When is the timing belt to be changed usually, I mean how many Km? Usual troubles with this engine?

The 2L engines are very strong. 90ks for the timing belt.
I can ship a Car to Melbourne for under $300!
