2013 v6 wagon.
Trying to remove the headlights to retrofit led globes (yes, I know)
I can get the leds in there, but the rear caps won't go on so I need to remove the headlights to fit them up properly

So far I've got the grille off, and two of the adjustment threads off (pic 1 and 4) and the lights are loose, but it feels like there is a bolt or something at the bottom stopping it from sliding out.

Do I need to drop the bumper away?is that just the 2 bolts on the wheel arch and the 4 on the radiator support?https://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2023/03/eb7bb5b213d0fe2b4b46fba1bfc6297c-1.jpghttps://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2023/03/dff60119d1cf972fccebd1f8b4536e09-1.jpghttps://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2023/03/25e55d4660451191f47c83b67ec5df8e-1.jpghttps://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/images/imported/2023/03/34b4d821953e6f55fd53e3e301803375-1.jpg

The bumper needs to come off; check out the really early pictures in my image library there are bolts on the underside of the lights.

I was hoping that wasn't the case. Thanks again Mig

Done. All in all, the extra 10 bolts and 20 minutes made it so much easier.
I fitted up lightforce h7 low beam globes, and they went in pretty easy. As they use a separate (canbus compatible) driver module, I chose to remove the lights so I could mod the rear caps and mount the driver module properly. I couldnhave gotten the globes in, but with the amount of stuffing around to get the flexible heatsinks in and the drivers it was the right call to remove them
I probably should have taken pics, and can if needed.
