Hi all I’m wanting to get a couple of child seat anchor points fitted for the front bench seat.
Can anyone recommend someone that is local to the Gold Coast that can help?
Also is it possible to have the anchors fitted to the bench seat itself rather than the van floor?

Only on the seats if they are rated to have them. Most arent Have to see an engineer about it

If you dont have any seats behind the front row you maybe able to fit a C.R.A.B. device , child restraint anchor bar , Its designed to fit top tether points behind certain seats as I used to fit them 22 years ago . The idea of them is it does not place any strain on the top of the backrest as its inline with the top of the seat backrest and bolts to the body either side behind the front seat . DO NOT fit an anchor point to the floor below the seat as in a crash the strain of the belt will cause the backrest to break its mounting which would then propel the child seat etc forward causing injury . I would suggest you contact Van Quip in Mansfield Brisbane for more info . I sold my business doing extra seating chlid restraints etc 22 years ago so I cant help.

Thanks Sunny that’s a huge help!
I most definitely won’t be cutting corners here.
I’ll give Van Quip a call.

Hi @summersky, just wondering how you went with installing additional anchor points? Was it possible and if so where in the van were they installed?
I'm looking into purchasing a T6 but trying to figure out how to make the most of the rear 3 seater. My dilemma is I'd like to be able to use the 3 seater in all positions in the van and having anchor points on the seat itself would be the ideal solution.
I dont understand how the van complies if I were to use it configured as a 5 seater (without the 2 2 seaters and the 3 seat in the most front position, which from my understanding, is a valid configuration) as the 3 seater has no anchor points...
Thanks in advance :)

Hi johntz I had a CRAB bar fitted. However they wouldn’t mod plate it due to the airbag.
Whoever you find to install it make sure they’re prepared to certify compliance without having to play around with the airbag.
The bar is mounted to the body just under the ceiling say at the halfway point of the sliding door. I no longer have the van and don’t have pics so going off memory.
They wouldn’t mount the anchor points on/near the seats as they weren’t able to confirm that the bench seat could withstand the pressure of the tether strap in the event of an accident.
I’m not sure what you’re wanting to do is possible. Best to speak to a professional that can advise you.
