Hi all,
I've been offered a T6 (MY15/TDI340) with 170,000kms on it for $26k. Been serviced every six months since new.
Spoke to the mechanic who was doing the work and it'll need new brakes all round as well as front shocks and a minor service.
What does everyone think? Price is very tempting for a T6.
Thanks in advance

I think check the CFCA egr cooler issue if this is a T6 with CFCA engine.
Otherwise I think well cared for my t5.1 has a lot more kms now and has been very reliable fingers crossed. Though yes several things bushes shocks etc due for renewal.

1.) the local mechanic would not have had the equipment needed to properly change DSG oil, so it might be worth it to book it for that to a VW dealer. Ask the Dealer to also do a "calibration drive" (or similarly it is called) when they drive around in the van with a computer and finely adjust DSG clutches clearances, which would be very useful for the higher KMs transmission.
2.) Shock Absorbers would be needing replacements for sure at these KMs.

Yes just check all those dirty 3 letter words that VW,s are known for DSG DPF EGR DMF TCS ASR , someone in VW obviously knew how to make components end up with a 3 letter acronym .
