Hi all. I see it’s been a few years since anyone on here has discussed performance mods for the last of the 155tsi Jettas (2015-2017). I’m looking at getting one and I’ve heard the 2.0T engines are like a MK6 GTI but with a better turbo.

If anyone here has upgraded the performance with custom tunes or APR tunes along with parts let me know.

Although APR no longer offers the Stage 2 Tune, I’m looking for a similar stage 2 tune and DSG tune from someone here local in SA, so other than the tune I’ll need the usual GTI basic mods:
- Upgraded higher flow intake
- Upgraded turbo downpipe (catless)

I’ve looked at APR intakes and their air box and filter fit and are made for the Jetta but it looks like their pipe to the turbo doesn’t.

Or I could leave all parts standard and go for a Stage 1 tune (not as fun).

What else does everyone have? Cheers!

I've got a 3Bar tune on my 147TSI - both ECU and DSG. No other hardware mods though - as much as I'd like to go down that path the $$ vs usable gain for me isn't there. I still have plenty of fun with a Stage 1 tune, and the DSG upgrade makes it much better.

DSG Tune to get quicker shifts, change shift points, clamping pressure etc. No more shifting at 2k in D for example.

Hey mate I have a 155 with an apr stage 1 tune , with just a drop in filter , have plans on going stage 2 at some stage(obviously via a different tuner , also in Adelaide . The obvious lack of aftermarket parts in Australia is a bit of a downer , still a fun car and something different from all the golfs on the road ,

Do 3bar have a dyno for custom mapping?

I believe they have access to one, but not sure on the custom mapping stuff. You're probably best with a mob like Etuners if you have specific needs like that. Else shoot Peter at 3Bar a message, he's very helpful.

Thanks man no worries.
I'm currently in a 118tsi forged build with lots of goodies that'll need custom work.

Just wanted to see if there's others in the realm of custom tuning.

As for the 2.0T, I would safely assume most mods that fit a GTi of the same vintage should definitely work on the Jetta too.

The US market sold those as the "GLI" edition so there could be some useful info about it on their forums.

I did see a build about a 550HP 2.0T Jetta on YT, looks pretty impressive.
