I have some coins stuck behind the lid of the coin tray.Is there anyway to take the lid off to get to the coins? And ive noticed that$2 coins fit nicely into the cig lighter 12v connecton and blow the fuses

I gave up using it as a coin tray for this reason

I keep coins in my wallet. However sometimes I put them in the 2 slots next to the handbrake.

And I'm pretty sure its an ash tray not a coin tray. I'll call VW to check.

flaps i think most of us know its an ash tray just when u have a lot of coinage u dont want it all visible so makes more sense than the slots besides the handbrake

i have had a set of keys do the same thing, made the lid jam. lucky i got them out cos they were my house keys :). i just gave up on closing the lid, nothing ever falls out of there, we don't exactly pull enough G's for that to happen.

p.s. probably best to keep $2 coins out of the cig lighter, best way to f#@k s*%t up....haha!

Get one of these, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/VW-Polo-Front-Dash-Cubby-Box-Shelf-9N-9N3-2002-up-NEW_W0QQitemZ280201031276QQihZ018QQcategoryZ9889QQ rdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638. m122

You can take it out, how else would you clean out the ash.

hey thats pretty cool, i have also seen an armrest/centre console piece (can get leather bound) that replaces the useless can holders in the middle. they are pretty cheap too. http://cgi.ebay.com/Centre-Console-ARMREST-for-VW-Polo-9N-Mk6-GTi-NOT-GOLF_W0QQitemZ270212561655QQihZ017QQcategoryZ9889Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The cloth/'leather' as it arrives from HK or China is a bit sub par, but I had mine recovered. I find it very comfortable especially on long trips, although because it cover the handbrake, it can be a slight hassle around town. Depends where you have your seat set
