Hey guys & gals, i just picked up a MY08 GT last week, my old car i had a JVC head unit in it with a USB port, had an 8Gb stick wil all my tunes on it and it rocked. missing having that flexibility and dont want to conform and buy an ipod just to replicate what i had. anyone heard of any funky ways to get this to work without buying a cheap and nasty fm modulator thingo?

cheers

steve

Could you change the OEM head unit to a mp3 player, that way you still enjoy 100s of songs, just not thousands like your 8G USB. You can get a mp3 head unit for 100ish.... Stay away from those FM modulator, they have really bad sound quality as you may know.

I wouldn't suppose your GT would play cassettes, thsoe cassette modulator actually play better sound than FM modulators.

I always wonder if this works... wonder what kind of connections those CD stackers going into the head unit use as input ? If it is AUX, you can get AUX --> head phone socket, than can plug in MP3 players. :?

Hopefully when i get the finances sorted out at the end of the month ill order one up and let you know how it goes...

for $130 u cant go far wrong i reckon.

On a sidenote though, can someone tell me if i have to take the stereo out or if there is a CD changer Cable already present in the centre console?

the removing the stereo instructions look like a lot of screwing around and have lots of potential to cause rattles..
