Im not a Seat driver, even though I like the cars (thrashed an Ibiza in Spain for about a week, that was fun :D), but you guys may be able to answear my question.

I have the 07' Polo GTI with 1.8T which was in the old Golf's and Audi's. Does the Seat come with the same engine as my Polo?

I am thinking about sourcing a Seat (I think its from the Cupra) intake manifold because it has the inlet/throttle on the otherside of the engine compared to the VW. Provided that the manifold can bolt up to my engine block.
This means I can run a front mount interccoler with the entry-exit to the cooler being left to right. Rather than having the exit and entry plumbing on the same side of the car as it would be needed for a Polo.

Are there any wreckers that specialise in Seats around Sydney? What models of the seat comes with the same 1.8T as found in the older Golf and Audi?

Welcome aboard.

Its a sensible question. However, SEAT were only sold here from 1994-1999. The last cars to come here were 16V Cupras in 99.

In 2000 SEAT started producing the 1.8T, but unfortunately none were ever sold here.

I sell SEAT parts in Sydney and can get new parts out of the UK. Let me know a part number or specifics of model it comes from and I`ll help if I can. PM me.

Maybe a passat or Audi A4 manifold could do what you want.

Thanks for the reply.

I didnt really expect to find the Seat 1.8T manifold here in oz. But the feedback im getting from others is that the manifold I was inquiring about is all wrong for my Polo GTI. Mainly because the Seat had more power and the manifold is made larger with bigger throttle body. Add all that (larger diamater) to my small turbocharger and I wouldnt benefit from such an upgrade.

But you may be on to something with the A4. I will need to do some more research before I hassle you with quotes etc.

Can you get wheels by any chance? I was after 17 X 7' OZ Racing Superturismo WRC (White) I know they are cheaper in the UK than they are here.
