Just wondering if anyone has installed this in their car before.
Interested to have the car pre-started so the heater/air-conditioner has time to get the car to a comfortable temperature during extreme weather (obviously FWP).

What system have you used and PROs/CONs. Not sure if there are brands better for VW cars.

A quick search came up with:
2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Remote Start Kit. Comfort, Key, Details - 3CN065760 - Genuine Volkswagen Accessory (https://parts.vw.com/p/Volkswagen_2018_Tiguan/Remote-Start-Kit/70042331/3CN065760.html)

Just came across this, some good info:
Carbon Car Systems - Alarm + Remote Start (http://www.vwgolf.net.au/showthread.php?26552-Carbon-Car-Systems-Alarm-Remote-Start)

Just activated the mod below:
VCDS or OBD11 tweak - Allows you to lock the car with the keyfob whilst the car is running.

1) Central Electronics Module - 09
2) Security 31347
3) Go to Adaption
4) Search “ZV allgemein-Funk bei Klemme 15 ein”
5) Default “not active” set to “active”

Allows me to start up the car so the air conditioning cools/heats the car, get out, lock it and come back in later to load in the baby.
Obviously not as good as a remote start system but means I don't have to worrying about someone jumping in and driving off with the car (which was possible before as you couldn't lock the car with the keyfob when you're outside the vehicle).

Remote start is really something VW should have. It's a fairly stock standard feature these days. Even base model Commodores have had it for YEARS!

Installed one with alarm and turbo timer on a 1990 Hilux Surf in the early 2000's...

Good for warning car up in the mornings.
