Hi all, I just bought a 2011 V6 FSI Highline Wagon and find that the reversing camera is beyond useless at night, it;s literally just black! Hoping upgrading the tiny little reverse light bulbs might help. Does anyone happen to know what bulbs it uses or suggestions on a decent upgrade? Thanks!

P21W I guess, same as R36.
I did dual reverse lights mods(buy another Euro spec reverse light) and bought a pair of Canbus Error free P21W LED bulbs(30w each, 6500k color), day and night difference, even just comparing one reverse light.

Putting your foot gently on the brake helps.

Took them out tonight, looks like the 2011 globes are even duller, these are the stock globes W16W W2.1x9.5d

Was going to try some Philips ones but apparently they don't work in VW's

Took it out tonight and had a look, stock bulb is a W16W W2.1x9.5d 16W.
Was thinking of trying these but apparently they don't work in VW's Amazon.com: Philips 921 T16 retrofit X-tremeVision LED Exterior light (Pack of 1): Automotive (https://www.amazon.com/Philips-retrofit-X-tremeVision-Exterior-light/dp/B00H8YAX1W/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1501157546&sr=8-7&keywords=philips+led+car)

I might have to go down this route on my R36 - not dual reverse lights, just a one decent reverse light. I had to reverse down my dark driveway tonight and the RVC was next to useless, certainly compared to our Golf. Using the brake lights did help though.
I note that some owners had put in 50W halogen globes - but that was a few years ago, probably before there were Canbus Error free LED lights became readily available.
