T4 engine oil

Can someone tell me which engine oil is adequate for 2.5l petrol in a T4 please!

5W40 full synthetic is fine.

Could probably run a 10W40 semi-syn, if you're in a pinch.

Could be worse.

Could be an '03/'04 TDI, that needs 506.01, which only one brand still makes, and is $150 for 5L.

true, son's owned a T5 tdi and mk5 GTi, now remember that long life oil was stupidly expensive
