After extensive checks the rails are gone might abandon ship. I am using this vehicle as a donor for the gearbox ( Auto fault previously posted) and was thinking about making this a car again too. Rails are round and bags are out.
Keep you posted if i have a brainwave.
Cheers

Anyone got a front cut????? Rad support complete then i might think about it??????? Bags are out too. Bloody shame has been a good thing. AH forgot to mention Autobox ( as it is being robbed from this to fix another).
Yeah rails are bad OS has a kink in it too, but no suspension set back.
Just discovered this morning that the sump is cracked too( alloy welders out there)
Cheers

Yeah just on Jarreds comment - may consider break so it has V6 2.6 and nice leather trim and of course all the brakes.

Just an update on the sad Audi. The engine and transmission comes out this weekend so i can transplant the box into another vehicle . I will then have better picture on how nasty the rails are. I might hav a source for a front cut!!! Any repair is easier when the engine is out so i might have a better chance at getting a decent quote to fix. This might not be of interest to some, but i feel the need as this is an Audi section after all and deserves its place.

Hey Jimmymac, any panel beater would appreciate to have the engine out of the vehicle as there is stuff all money in striping and refiting, all the moneys in the repair.
The beater will obviously have a better view with engine out and will be able to better determine if it needs to go on a chassis aligner. Beauty of those machines to is that when first putting the cars details in it asks if the engine is in or out of the vehicle to compensate those few mm.
Hope it goes well mate, she's not that bad by the looks of it.

Vehicle now is going to be broken. I have transplanted the ZF box today ( PHEW) on the ground again(phew!!!!!) must weigh around 90 kilos man, lucky i have my Porsche apprentice on tap Cheers Ben!!! Never will we do a Zf on the floor again. Serious task and i can tell u there was some very broad Scottish being used in the shed HEHEHEHE . I would have fixed the vehicle but owner who originally bought the vehicle as a donor for the box has other ideas, not to worry its all good.Cheers

Must have been AITS Jimmy, Audi induced tourretes syndrome!!! We often have the avionics version flying round at work.

Shame to go to that trouble and then have to break it...
