Sounds like the breather vent pipe that is equalizing when the fuel cap is unsealed.

Do you smell any fuel when the fuel cap in sealed? Do you see any leaks? If no to these questions then sleep well. You have nothing to worry about.

Hello, I don't smell any fuel, and there isn't any leaks. I just want to make sure that I'm not the only one with this sound. It would be great if other people could also tell me if they have this sound. It happens when I unseal the fuel cap, a gurgling sound starts and and then it stops. I have a video but I can't seem to post it. The sound is like air bubbles escaping or something... best way to say it is gurgle.

Thanks for your help!

Used to happen on my Subarus

Been driving a Diesel Mazda for 5 years so kinda got used to NOT hearing that sound

edit: I just opened up the fuel cap and didn't hear a thing (haven't refuelled yet)
It's sitting fairly close to empty though

Mine does it, as did my MK6 Golf. I seemed to notice it more if I had been driving the car for a while just before opening the fuel cap, if I opened it after the car had been sitting for a while then I didn't hear it. I am assuming that when the fuel pump is running it creates a vacuum in the tank and then when you open the cap straight after switching engine off the gurgling sound you hear is from the tank equalizing.

Thank you so much! I'm not worried now anymore!

Anyone else has this too? I'm not worried about this now since it's normal, but I'm just curious if anyone else has this. :)

Yeah mine does it too, it's like a Vapor sound, almost like sucking in residual fuel or something, same thing happens with my wife's Polo and my Audi s4. Nothin got be concerned about
