Yeah [emoji23] does putting 98 also attribute to that figure? I've only had diesel cars until now [emoji23]

I have a diesel at the moment and get like 1000 km per tank.
Maybe you could try one week of driving like a granny to see how many km's you can get.
That would be awesome if you have the patience to do that.

What Eco like to drive? What do you normally drive around in?

Eco is very smooth power delivery. It has a coasting feature when you take your foot off the gas. I usually use comfort so it's not too sluggish.

Let's hope it's just the demand vs any other complications. Oh the wait!! Grrrr

I know! I can imagine how you feel! Did you already get rid of the car that the Tiguan will replace? I got rid of mine 3 weeks before the Tiguan came so it was a painful wait.

Thought I'd revive this thread now that there is quite a few 162tsi models out there. What's the average fuel consumption like after a few months of driving?

Be interesting to know what your driving style is like and also an idea of metro/country driving you do.

Thanks in advance.

Also which driving mode you mainly use.

I've been averaging about 11L.

City driving only and lots of short trips. I generally have it in Normal, and occasionally Sport. Done about 1000kms.

I am doing a big drive this weekend down the coast so imagine it will come down a bit getting out of the city.

PS when you've got the money to pay 50 odd K for a car I don't really believe you should be trying to save a few bucks on petrol by driving it economically, you may as well enjoy it, but that's just me I guess.

Since a few weeks I'm using the Eco-mode quite often, as it keeps the revs lower, which creates a warmer, deeper, exhaust tone, while it changes gear sooner, which creates gentle, but deep pops... I change to normal, sport, comfort depending on my mood and circumstances. Very varied trips; city, commute, medium to long trips.

Fuel consumption about 730km on a full fuel tank > about 1:12

Ours is showing 10.3 - not an Rline but I think a hHghline isn't going to differ that much. A little over 1,500km and 8 weeks old. Mostly suburb driving with occasion short (around 20km) freeway sprints.

It is always in sport. Never in eco.

I'm on 9.8- have done 2k so far with mix of commute and a couple of longer trips down the coast- mostly in normal and occasionally in sports

Some varied numbers there, was hoping to get close to 10 but still have some fun along the way, looks like it's very doable.

2.0 TSI 180PS after 9890km on desk, show me avarage 10,5l/100km - mostly used on short trips in Polish big city (400k citizens, so not biggest).

Daily usage ~11l/100km, slow trips (to 90km/h) ~7,5l/100km, fast trips (between 90-160km/h) 8,5-9l/100km, very fast trips on German Autobahn's (between 140-190km/h) ~11l/100km.

My friend with 2.0 TSI 220PS after 5000km on desk said 12l/100km avarage, calm city traffic ~11l, busy city traffic ~13l and very busy city traffic ~17l - we live in same city. Trips outside of city to 90km - ~8-9l, 90-160km/h + 1-2l.

We found on German forums, that 220PS TSI on Autobahn in gas pedal in floor can take rage only 380km of road ;-)

I think when you say KM, you meant horsepower (ps). 180ps = 132kw (132TSI) and 220ps = 162Kw (162TSI).

1000km came up yesterday

Sitting at 12L/100km

Did manage to get about 8.9 after filling up yesterday but a couple short trips ruined that

It's mostly suburban driving with a few 80 roads in the mix. A couple freeway jaunts too.

I've only been driving our car to work and back since we've taken delivery about 2 weeks ago. It's been averaging about 7.5-8L/100kms. No highway driving, but plenty of 70 & 80 km roads with minimal traffic

...on Eco mode

Drove from Melbourne to Adelaide today, averaged 7.7L/100km for the trip. Did it in one tank with some to spare.

Yes just over 700. With the range left should have been able to get 800km.

Impressive, you didn't happen to go to the football?

No not for the footy unfortunately. Would have been worthwhile for any Melbourne fans though.

For the drive home I averaged 7.6L/100km so a very small improvement. I now have just over 2000km on the clock so not sure if this figure will improve further? Never came close to seeing the claimed 7L/100km however.

Good stuff, yeah it's pretty low. Maybe if you'd sat on 80km/h  BTW - die hard Melbourne supporter here :)
