cheers 4 avin a read firstly!

secondly, im in a conundrum! i dont know if i wanna spend more moneyz (not gunna post prices due to getting flamed) on a set of 2nd hand rims as apose to brand newies? (spose it doesnt really matter with wheels) but here are my choices...

SSR Reverse Mesh 17x8 17x9 - a very rare wheel in this fittment . . .

Yes true but really is rally-esque like the OZ Superturismos (also an option)

. . . i kinda need a track rim, and the enkei's weigh 2kg less than the superturismos . . . and the ssr's are pimpin, i think?

I dont think the white ones look too jap, i think they look sort of like some tarmac racing wheel that O.Z would make. the first ones are pure porn though!
I think the white ones would get lost on your paint colour anyway, If you had to get one of them , I would say go for the SSR

Alex have you had a look at TSWs at all they have some awesome wheels there to!

However I am going to say it is this for the vr6? I thought you were going light weight rims?

However those SSRs look the goods :)

yes they're for the vr, and if the ssr's were lightweight id be all over them, i just really dig their style! but thats y ive thrown in the enkei's and perhaps the o'zeds . . . i dont wanna go too showy with the likes of tsw, the ssr's still keep that racey theme going imo

Hey man, why not try one of these styles, both would be really light, my pick of the two would have to be the Work Emotion XD9.

^ It is your car though man, your the one buying the rims.

No matter what style it falls under, your car is purposeful in intent (good brakes etc), so i think some lightweight rims would:

1-look good/perhaps like some jap circuit car rims, but for good reason (they use them because of their lightweight and strength)
2-for those who are really into circuit racing, doesnt matter what type of car, they will recognise the rims as purpose serving, and therefore most likely forget the genre of car which they are on, or even find the mix of german and jap cool

sorry for those probably hard to understand statements lol. j: I was trying just to say that you already have the circuit/purposeful look, why not top it off with the rims

I'd take the Reverse Mesh for show, but they're not very track friendly on the Mk3 if you're sticking with those sizes! You'd be running adapters on those babies too as I've NEVER caught them in a 100 PCD pattern.

Those Enkei RC-T4 looks good though! Yeah they do look like the Superturismos too. I got myself some of those:

They're 16x6.5 and had stampings and everything, but they do look *slightly* different to the pictures I've seen on the internet... makes me wonder if they're actually real or not. And another important issue was that they were much heavier than I expected. They weighed at least a kg more than the BBS and Work Equips I have, and they're actually bigger in size. :?

Anyway, if the VR6 is to see the track a lot, I reckon you'd do better with the Enkei wheels.

firstly! they are actually 5x100! OMFG HUH!
Secondly, the Superturismos arent really all that light for a "race bred" rim, in 17x8 i was told 9kg as apose to the Enkei RC-T4 in 17x8 being 7.2kg! kind of gay really! if u want track rims, go jdm . . .

i think i may bite the bullet and get the ssr's :o they're a lil exy even after talking him down, but i think im in love and who can place a price on love? ive been racking my brain all today and yesterday! i didnt even sleep yesterday cuz ma mind was so dambed awake debating wid maself!! man am i paying now though :( lol, sleeeeepy . . . *drool*

thanks for everyones replies!!

. . . going t sleep . . . Alex

Get the SSR's for daily. Too rare to pass up.

Grab the Enkies for track. Less weight = more go, looks take a back seat when your goin at 200 :D

Havent considered OZ Chrono or Ultraleggra?? Both are lightweight, but I dont think there as light as the Enkei's.

Theres a set of SSR's that are stupidly light too, Tim has a set. Forget what they're called tho.

If you want other options, take a look at http://www.wheelweights.net/ :)

trutru, i like the OZ Chrono rims! but they're cast? if i go for a track rim ima get something forged, not many "light weight" rims are; So thats why i'd probably go for the Enkei RC-T4's, Technically they're not forged but use a proccess called mat dura flow forming which is stronger than some forged wheels!. . .
