View Full Version : Jetta 1.4T 118TSI Rebuild Options

Took my Jetta for its first service since taking in ownership and found out that its showing early signs of needing a rebuild. :(

I've had a quick search around to no avail. Is their any performance options in the way of pistons and internals for the 1.4T 118TSI engines that I can look at.

I figure if I have to rebuild then I may as well come out with a better package.

Any help suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There'll be some experts to chime in directly.

But in the meantime, what version of the TSI do you have? Later versions have forged piston that, with some other modifications, have made the Twinchargers much more reliable.

I'm still pretty new to the VW world (been a Honda drive for the past 15 years). Car is a MY11 so I believe I may have on the early Twincharged versions.
