Currently installing inverter for 240 volts, under the passenger seat in a T5 camper conversion. I have been disconnecting the vehicle battery before disconnecting the seat airbags, reversing the procedure when putting things back.
Now I want to drive the vehicle to a friend's for some help with wiring. I'd like to leave the seat out while I get the vehicle to the friend's place. I anticipate a Check Airbag warning should I start the vehicle with the seat removed. Would I have to get a service centre to reset the check light? Hoping someone has come across the issue.

You need someone with a basic code reader/reset tool like VCDS, OBD11 or a stand alone hand held tool (or lots of other simliar options). I'm sure there is someone on here that could help you out with a quick reset:

I am not 100% sure but if no one sits on the seat it may not show up . If you need recoding resetting Alba European at Slacks Creek has the gear or K& G Automotive also in Slack Creek could do it as well .

I'm intending to take the seat out completely and leave it in the shed while I drive the vehicle to the friend's place. I anticipate the check light will come on during initial checks by the vehicle computer when I start the vehicle.
I have noted the suggestions for someone that can do a reset if I need it, thanks.

With the seat out, you will get the airbag light on, and it will need to be cleared once the seat is re-fitted.

I'll contact a couple of those suggested reset places and ask prices. I's like to leave the seat out for a short drive but cost might not be worth it.
Another thought - is there any plugin available to fool the computer, that you know of?

I'm not certain but you could disconnect the battery leave it off for a while refit the seat and then reconnect see if the light has gone out , I know it works with some things .

Negative.
Disconnecting the battery will just bring the light on for low voltage reasons.
There's really no other way around this, besides not reconnecting the battery without the seat plugged in.
