Why would the comfort pack include a stupid, troublesome and completely unnecessary panoramic sunroof?
The Comfortline with heated leather seats would be the ideal package for me, which could be sold as a $3k option.

What's troublesome about it?

If you want leather seats without sunroof you need to buy the base Highline model.

Or the other option is to get a Comfortline and go to a motor trimmer and get leather put in as an aftermarket option. You can end up with better quality leather in the colour of your choice. I have done this before on a previous car.

And yes it's a pain but that's what you get with bundled options.

Ok, but the best part about the VW leather is that you get a seat that has motorised controls.

There have been numerous issues with water being found in the interior of VW/Audi cars due to blocked/kinked/unplugged sunroof drainage hoses.

Anyone know if the electric seat includes memory function?

A.

Structural strength is compromised, interior can overheat in our summer, squeak and rattle when they get old and another two motors to fail.

I've had sunroofs in Mk 3, 5 and 6 Golfs with no issues. I'll be going for it in the upcoming Tiguan.

Should have memory, but most likely driver side only.

Other reason to go for the leather is that they are heated.

A must if you're in a Southern State

I'm a Canberra local. Very big fan of heated seats!!!!

I know this is an old post, but just wanted to point out that it looks like the seat has a 3 driver memory function.

Perfect. Thank you for that small but important piece of news!

No probs. I'm going by the fact that there are three buttons labelled 1, 2 and 3 where the adjustment buttons are. I noticed it when I test drove one of the Tiguans on Saturday.

For sunroof fans-----A friend of mine recently had his X5 written off because the drains for sunroof were blocked, and , after not using car for 6 weeks, 250 litres of water came out when the door was opened! It was deemed that electronics would forever be unreliable.

I hope your friend had insurance for agreed value and not market value

Sunroof drains in any car are an issue and need constant attention which of course they never get. I had a car with a sunroof once and I think I opened it once and strangely enough I see very few cars with sunroofs open when I am driving around.
