Hey guys I was wondering if the 1.8t can be stroked into a 2L by changing or swapping the crank shaft with a Golf GTI V for example?

it can be done but i was told not to bother unless you want HUGE power :) bigger turbo like garrett is enough.

The blokes in the states normally go to a ABA (basically our 2E with a counter flow cyl. head) complete 2L block as it's a cheaper option, rather than all the machining cost's involved stroking & boring a 1.8L.
But in my opinion, I wouldn't bother.
There's blokes that have made stupid power out of just 1.8 litres & reliable power too.
One bloke comes to mind who made 600+ wheel hp recently & it's a daily driver.
400whp over there is a pretty common occurance in the states.
