Cheers Guys :)
Mk3vr6 : Yeah I love the BBS RXII's but 16 inch is a tad small for a MK4 wish they were atleast 17inch. I mate of mine had a set of these on his mk3 vr6 looked really wicked :)

I spotted that too and scratched my head. All the aussie delivered GTI's had digital climate control. Was this one a private import or something?

NZ Spec people...
hey why dont you put the water lines under the top strut bar
Well for some reason there seemed to be some compression of the water line when i tried it from the bottom. didn't wanna cause issues so just ran it over the top :)

Its a Jap import. The Specs are slightly different to the Oz and New Zealand new cars. Unlike Oz's strict import laws we get tons of imports which do 2 things makes good cars more affordable to everyone as it drops the market price and also makes NZ new cars ie cars bought from the dealers new hold their prices a little longer as their specs are different to the imported cars. Also my car being a 1999 doesn't have a trip computer either only the 2000 model up have them. oh yes and the gearbox linkage system is the same as that on the late mk3 golfs it was only changed on the 2000 model up.
Add a stubby antenna to the list of mods! :)
getting a Sharon stubby arial soon :) also need to buy an arial mast repair kit from ECS tuning as the rubber gasket surround on mine parished with the sun and came off so it looks abit incomplete at the moment and VW doesn't sell these darn things separately :(
As for the Stewart Warner Gauges I'm not entirely happy with them. Boost gauge's arm doesn't swing smoothly and often gets stuck and had oil leaking through the oil temp sensor and loss of oil pressure through the pressure sensor. The colour coding is spot on with the OEM lighting but the gauge isn't lit up evenly as i was led to believe. I'll be pulling them out shortly and replacing them with the smoked Autogauge boost, A/F ratio metre and a voltage metre. I've seen these gauges in the flesh and they well lit, easy 2 read and very smooth and accurate. :)

There is a cheaper way of getting the best looking aerial. Just cut it where it srarts to go thin!! I did that on my car and i love it!

hey, i assume thats a US spec Megan downpipe?
Apparently there are clearance issues when fitting a DP made for LHD car onto a RHD car stated here: http://www.goapr.com.au/products/18trhd_downpipe.html
i believe this is due to location of the brake booster on RHD cars.
Anyway, i'm just thinking why a specific RHD DP if LHD DP can fit :???:
Please clear this up once and for all
Cheers!
There was i minor clearance issue. when first fitted the DP would touch the firewall/ cross member or something and cause a horid rattle when u would take off. I just took it back to my muffler guy and he readjusted for me and its been sweet since :)
Hope that helped :)
Finally Posted Up some Decent High-Res Pics that I've collected along the way.

Have you got a Pic of the Lupo GTI gear knob?
Sounds like an Interesting mod
Hard to fit?
Where'd you source it from?
i don't but it's easy to find on ECS tuning or TM Tuning sites under mk4 section. It was easy to fit took about 15min. no modifications needed staright swap.

Hey, I don't know if this has been answered before, but what is the largest "Spacer" you can put on a mk4 golf (legally..)? without modifying the body...? THANKS!

none. spacers are illegal with a few exceptions like some Porsche models
Cars looking good Fizz! Love the roof and fairing.
Thanks guys, Sorry out2golf not sure on the rules that side but here in NZ upto 5mm don't require certification anything larger needs to
hubcentric and attached to the hub also requires the car to be certified coilovers here require certification as well.
out2golf 2 answer your question regarding largest spacers depends on a number of factors: tyre profile and offset of wheels.
for example if u have wheels with offset 35 or 38 u can stick 22 or 25mm in the rears and 15mm in the fronts the lower the
offset wheel the narrower the spacer required. best thing to do is get a low offset wheel like 30p

nice, got to get mine on!
Thanks :) biggest hassle is getting the hub centric rings off as mine were stuck on pretty tight.
Got some 15mm for the fronts but need to still get longer wheel bolts
