Hi everyone!
I own a stock 2010 MY11 Polo 6R TDI Comfortline DSG. She was my first car and has been brilliant. A surprising workhorse for such a small car. A few issues with the DSG and EGR valve, but nothing Volkswagen haven't fixed for free, haha.
I'm currently looking to get a second car with some more horses for track days and general fun. My current short list is Polo GTI, Golf GTI (possibly Clubsport/40 years), Golf R, Ford Focus ST or Ford Focus RS. I will definitely be planning to tune and mod this car.

Hi welcome . That's one hell of a variety list there. I suppose first you need to choose how ,u h you wanna spend. Maybe the 40tg edition is a bit $$ for a track day straight up. Also - 4wd or 2wd, then you should consider what brand you like to drive. Then what size of car polo size or golf focus size. By then you might be sticking with a golf gti mk5 or 6 for modding. Again all round best car! Good luck with the choice

I know it's broad. It's a car that will be shared by my partner and I as our job doesn't really make owning 2 hot hatches viable nor practical. Ideally I would prefer a 4WD and am mostly keen on the Focus RS. It's just a ridiculous car and the value for money, not to mention looks (!!!) catch me more than the VW's, but the waiting time is getting longer each day he says no.
He wants to get another Polo, which I am down for but not totally sold on having 2 of the same size car, even if one is a performance hatch. He currently drives a Focus Zetec which we're about to sell and the boot space does come in handy. We also live on a dirt road with a steep driveway and both our FWD's have a lot of trouble with traction up the driveway, particularly with our current weather.
It's pretty much going to come down to budget and compromise, which means we'll likely get a Polo GTI. The only thing we can agree on right now is that it has to be a manual. We can't even agree on colour.

haha that is a dilemma for sure .... Not a good place. For me other than I also love the focus Rs if I compare the build quality and how a car makes me feel I will always go with a VW even though the Rs looks like, a rocket ship especially in that it was boot space to consider j would still go with a golf gti. Good luck ..... What colour are you guys fighting about ??

I want white with black accents. He wants black on black. Neither of us really like what the other wants. Maybe we'll go with silver.

White and black is the new black of today. Black is such a pain in the bum to keep clean, not to mention the heat factor and the scratch marks you see :(((( white and black is much classier. Show him some of the awesome rides on Instagram of the white and black themed gti and r's.

Exactly my point, haha! Dirt road + black everything = no fun. My current white polo never looks too dirty from dust, which is going to work in my favor. White & black is so common these days, but it's just a nice classy look and I'm a classy girl.
