Well I am really p@#$ed off now!!!! I just got the radiator drain bolt rethreaded, $60 thank you very much. Now after giving the cooling system a good flush because it was overheating, the water pump has shat itself!!!!!!!!!! This on top I just have found the coolant reserviour is rooted At this stage I am really f#$^ing p%^$ed off, apparently it may cost around $300 to fix. I will have to call Pete at CVWC tomorrow to see what he can offer. So far when the wipers are on the car stalls, it hesitates/jerks when cruising keeping the accelerator on, may need to replace the dissy, points, rotor and coil, and the damn thing misfires while idling. I have had enough. I have to travel to see the olds after christmas, as dad has cancer, and mum is getting old in her head. The car is booked in on the 17th, but I won't have all the money to pay for it till January, when a few dollars from various will top up the coffers and I can pay for everything, I will have to work out something with Pete. I am really ready to throw the car to the ****house at the moment. Arrrrrggghhhhhh f$$#^ing, Arrrggghhhhhh.

Sounds like you need a newer car mate. I love the old cars as well, but they are just not reliable enough

I say don't give up - there's nothing more rewarding than knowing you've conquered the evils and have a reliable old car (at least for a while!) Cars you can fix yourself are definitely a dying breed.

Sorry to hear about that mate. Get the really important stuff done first, prioritise them and do what you can with the budget as it will get you down otherwise, but like the rest of the guys i agree its worth the effort mate.
Take it easy
