Thats sorry to see Adam one of those situations where its no ones fault. I hope insurance will cover the cost to get the poor polo back to its original stunning self.

Gee - they must've been pretty large hailstones :(

On your second post (ie the first ones with pictures) - I can clearly see the dents in the front left quarter panel.

Hope the insurance doesn't try and wriggle out of paying, with the 'act of god' clause.

OMG!!!

I am SO sorry to see those photos....

Looks like someone came with beer bottles and beaten up our little Polo...

Hey... hope it gets fixed well.

Hard luck!

i know.. ah well, that's life....

so, now i decided to call my car "scarface" cuz it is always damaged by THINGS!!

crazy storm too. just had a read over the news. supposingly, the storm that hit was a "supercell" thunderstorm, where they are extreme updraft(wind) and that's why the hail are so massive......was pretty crazy seeing people at shopping centre (no cover) running around, and getting inside the shops for shelter......

edit:

does anyone knows a good panel beater in the sydney area??

That's a bugger! Well, at least it's covered by insurance and, after the hailstorm in Cbr early in the year, I was lucky enough to watch a skilled beater pull dents like that back pretty effectively

Geez Adam, thats shocking news mate. :(
I know a person in Blacktown that lost house tiles, broken skylights and 3 broken windows plus severe body damage on their 2 week old Falcon wagon.
Must have been a shocker up there, good luck with the repairs...
Andrew :(

okie dokie, got the claim in.. (after 40mins on hold......zzZzzz..)

thanks fuzion for the contact, hopefully will get it in tomorrow for a quote....

I know this will be a silly question, but does anyone know whether the car would be a write off? I saw on the news that some "Dealers" are having a lot of damaged (write off) vehicles....

edit:
ok, so for the whole afternoon, i searched the internet more than i did for studying, which i should be doing......

i found manheimfowles auction site, and been looking at those repairable write offs.. and some of those car doesn't look as damaged as it is (minimum damage) and they are write offs...:S Am i going to loose my polo...

Adam ... we need an insurance assessor on here to answer your question, Mate. Not sure we have one.

Adam I spotted you about a week ago on Pennant Hills rd. The plates kinda gave it away. Hope it all goes well!

Hi Adam, I was at the assessors today (NRMA in Blacktown). The dude basically told me that most cars valued at less than about $6k were write offs if they had decent damage. If the hail didn't break the paint then they are generally ok to fix. My Mk2 gti was caught in the storm and was unfortunately written off as the hail had cracked the paint :(. I am booked in to have my vr6 assessed tomorrow and from the damage I explained to him he said they'll repair it. Your Polo should be repairable if it has a decent insurance value.
Best of luck mate
Cheers
Steve
