where do u get that lip from?

That one looks like the VW lower front lip. It's been discussed in the FAQ / DIY sticky on the Polo page, there's a section for bodykits. From memory I think someone said it was around $800 unpainted just primed. Could be more.

Have a look on Polo UK, pretty common on there.

This one is nice, looks similar to the Reiger lower front lip but only smaller. Been trying to track this one down but with no success :(

I was talking about getting some colour coding done on my car.

Thought I should take a few photos and think about it...

Really needs a wash, but looks ok with my basic camera

Yeah I have. But due to limited budget because I'm a student, so I am going to probably get a DIY kit.

not that girls are incapable of stuff that guys can do, and not that girls are in any way not as good as guys when it comes to car stuff.

not to say that girls dont get the whole modifying cars thing, or that they dont have as much fun in cars as guys do......

Anytime I see another Polo GTI it's usually some boring old woman putting around in it :(

you see a few putting around in melbourne, but their drivers look like sorta semi-professional sensible types who've found the pog gti to be just as practical as a golf, but smaller for mostly commuting. you sorta wonder just how many have chips/ intakes etc etc.

Haha.. not dipped.. pretty blinding

Consider dipping them so it doesn't blind people. Trust me, it'll blind them so bad. It's happened to me :emo_baghead:

You can do it yourself at night. Just park it against the wall enough to see the level of the headlight and adjust, otherwise, you can have your mechanic do it for you.

Should take no more than 5-10 minutes.

I did have them dipped previously and make adjustments accordingly :)

ssman
15-04-2010, 10:28 PM
No it was very easy 3 bolts for the air pump- one bolt for the support- disconnect the fuel lines-work the fuel rail slowly up keeping the injectors intact-remove 4 air lines-disconnect electrical connection-remove intake hose and remove bolts and 2 nuts from mani. Thats it

Caution though there is a bit of dirt/junk above the mani and under the flange in these little pockets so when you take it off be prepared, I used a vac at the same time, go slow and it will be fine.

all of them really? fair enough I think the borbets work, pretty classic set of rims, and in red they work well against the black, personally I'd have a lower offset and more dish though.

you wouldnt be able to go lower with those wheels/tyres. Not really driveable sitting on the rear tyre like that. Air ride would come in handy if you wanted to move it :P

I think Dom has the right idea with airbags. Not quite so aggressive on the wheel offset so you can lay her all the way down.

Thanks mate. :) They 17x8 ET35 OZ Racing wheels with 205/40/17 Hankook Ventus Evo's on. I wouldn't mind spacing the rear a little. I might have to consider spacing the fronts ever so slightly to get 4pot calipers under them, but I'd prefer not to, as I do rub a little - it's time to remove my fender liners.

Hey, thanks guys. The wheels are 18x8 with a +35 offset, and are an absolutely perfect fit. They are replicas made by Ronel in 5x100, so no adaptors needed. I picked them up off one of the boys off the forum, who bought them off Peedman, who got them off some guy in Melbourne off eBay... I believe they are one of the only sets in that stud pattern in Australia.

Yeah, very true... I would love them, but I can't justify the cost plus engineering for Porsche brakes. Legally, Polo's can go to the R32 brakes without engineering as these were fitted to the Polo Cup standard.
I'm pretty much done with mods for my one.... The next mods will be getting the bonnet done in black again, an coilovers.

Yeah, they are 312mm rotors with twin piston calipers if I remember correctly... I remember looking it up on the VW servicing site when I was at Guys place last month.

R32 brakes are bigger than 312mm, 312mm is S3/TT with single piston, R32 was like 334 with dual pistons

Blitzen
01-02-2011, 11:34 PM
Well they would be 334mm brakes then... They were definately 2 piston calipers... I'm trying to look it up now, but having no luck... When I was at the workshop, we were talking about the plusses of having these brakes fitted as they would have no need for engineering due to the standard figment on the Cup model. I'll post a like iff I can find it.

Well, I look like a dag. Found pics of the Cup, and they look like 312mm single pots, so I was wrong about the twin pots... Ahh well...

I am guessing that is directed at me, yeah I take it out, we have had so much rain and storms here, last week driving, the water was half way up the wheels lol.

I wash it once a week i guess or less, well it is a 07 model with only 40,000km. Trying to get into the whole detailing thing too at the moment, see how i go getting rid of the light swirls

Those rims look tiny for 17's. I think the wheel gap doesn't help the look of the rim size... Maybe some coil overs might help to drop the car 40-45mm. Nothing bad about the look of the rims, they just look like an A cup boob in a D cup bra...
